Emonda S4

Trek has always led the way with riding platforms and has made sure that “peloton” technology has filtered down to consumer level. The Emonda series comes in three different carbon levels, making it easier to choose and to meet that all-important price brackets. The Emonda S4 is made from their 300 series OCLV Carbon and sees a complete Shimano Tiagra groupset, not the mix and match approach to keep costs down. The recent price drop has taken this bike down from £1200 to £1000 making it that perfect first carbon road bike and hitting the “Cyclescheme” price limit perfectly. We love the way the Emonda S rides and with the finishing kit from Bontrager giving you tubeless ready wheelset and biodynamic Paradigm saddle, it begs to be ridden.

Tifosi eyewear

We picked Tifosi eyewear for many reasons, first off all their range covers all face sizes and shapes. Secondly they use UVA & UVB protection in all of their range, cutting out all harmful rays from the sun; But most importantly their price point. The interchangeable series starts at just £34.99 and the single lens series at £24.99, add that to the entire tech associated across the board and its some serious bang for buck. The range caters for leisurewear with the Hagen and goes to some serious race performance glasses with the Pro Escalates. Come on down and try some today.

Maintenance Evening.

The 2nd June saw our first maintenance evening, which we held in store with two of our fantastic mechanics. The format was simple, basic maintenance that will save you time and money, complimented by a few beers from local brewery, Bath Ales and some righteous snacks from Sam’s Kitchen Deli on our very doorstep.

We provided the bike(s) and took the participants through from changing an inner tube effectively to the dark arts of front derailleur set up. Everyone had a chance to interact and ask their own questions to our mechanics throughout the evening. The feedback from the night was encouraging and has given us a format to expand upon from here. We will be running more evenings; we are just finalizing the dates and will be in contact with those of you who have signed up. Due to the popularity of the initial sign up, it looks like we will be running these courses way in to next year…

Trek Demo Day

Our very own Jensie (Jensen) organized a fantastic Trek demo day featuring the Emonda & Domane range. We had a massive sign up for the day and we were blessed with the weather as well. The awesome chaps from Trek also lent us their show bike, the Emonda SLR10 which at the time was the worlds lightest production road bike, coming in at a staggering 4.65kg… this proved a great talking point in store as the demo bikes going out were the same frame but different groupsets on board. The guys from Mule Bar also paid us a visit and took time to explain why these locally made nutritional goodies help you keep going on the road & trail. We couldn’t help but also have a show bike or two from a beautiful European brand, so Alex from Look Bikes UK Distribution Company lent us some corking machines, the Look 795 & 675. Truly jaw dropping beauty and performance in one. Also one of our customers who has taken advantage of Trek’s custom “Project One” service came down with his Emonda SLR equipped with Shimano Dura Ace Di2, he was happy for all to have an ogle and answer some questions about it. All project one bikes come with a Trek Precision Bike Fit as part of the price, though if you want to get more out of your existing steed or even yourself then ask in store for details on this fitting service.
